If you hadn't heard yet ... there's one major alliance that has us wondering.
81k - The Last Word - Legion are allying .. rumor had it Triton was considering it as well. I confirmed the alliance with the GM of Legion. In Tacit's opinion we'll have nothing to do with 81k, or The Last Word if we have a choice about it. The Gm of Legion is Thrond from VZ, if you remember him heh. So ya, knowing this Tacit is currently reviewing our options and we're formulating some plans of our own. I'll give you guys a heads up with what we decide to eventually do as far as alliances. Our preference being to only ally with guilds that share our similar policy specifically in Pvp. Of course you all know that's LnS. Just like Vallon, I forsee this new server making a guilds reputation important again, and we take our reputation very seriously and hope to form alliances with similar guilds. No decisions have been made, but I can tell you the general opinion in Tacit is that we'll be extending an offer to Xk at some point. We'd rather play with you guys then against you if at all possible, there will be too many spank guilds to compete with we're not going to want to compete against a guild that has similar policy.
Aside from that I'll tell you, personally I was disappointed when I saw you guys on Varking and we were on opposing teams, so I'm hoping to be able to play along side you guys again =). Had some of my best times in game flying a Xanit tag back in the day =).

It is going to be interesting to see how this whole server merge ends up working out. I think it is safe to say that we will be interested in creating alliances with guilds who share the same beliefs as us. Personally, I would like to see how the server reacts the first week or so before committing to anything at this point.

Good to see there's more guilds out there playing with the classic VZ style attitude. Ascendency of Tharridon upholds that playstyle as well.

Legion apparently declined the offer. The Last Word and 81k have semi-merged into (Fusion). I've seen both (Fusion) and (Fusion [order]). Not sure what exactly is going on there though. Apparently there are alot of merges/alliances taking place on both servers. I think the majority realize that it's going to be a significant power struggle right after the merge. Specifically guilds trying to set footholds as to where they stand on the "ladder" of the new server. I typically have never liked to invole myself in politics as far as gaming goes, but what's going to happen or is happening in our community has my interest. Primarily because I, as well as the people I'm gaming with, intend to play this game long term (assuming Sony keeps it going), and with that being the case we're wanting to try to impact as much as we can on the server, the kind of community we'd like to see evolve. I'm sure you guys specifically can appreciate what I'm talking about here. There hasn't been a community in a mmo that has even remotely resembled what was established years ago on Vallon Zek.

In that community honor and respect were motivating factors behind the power-house guilds, and character as well as guild reputation meant something. The communtiy was unique because it enabled players of all playstyles to play the game with the least amount of wasted time while gaming, by simply complying to the "player-made" ruleset. The policies such as LnS ... honorable PvP ... and general respect for fellow players I've not seen matched since then. These are the ideals the group of players I want to be around, support and when possible enforce. And to enforce anything at all on a brand new server it requires strength and power. Strength in guild unity, and power in numbers and skilled players. But even a guild of 50 highly skilled end-game equiped players can still be beaten by a zerg. Imo there's alot of guilds/players playing this game with a WoW mentality, and the majority even coming to understand that if they have the ability to outnumber the opposition it reduces the need to be selective as far as recruitment. So in turn you have these guilds trying to form together for the simple reason that they believe, in the end it'll be superior numbers that define who the power-houses are on this new server. I just don't think they realize that they won't be spoon fed loot like WoW, and eventually these massive guilds will fall. I mean lets face it this game isn't designed for guilds with 200 active players.

That being said, I understand where you sit on the issue Tipp. Sitting back and watching just exactly what will unfold is a safe bet. It'll allow you to pick and choose your battles and what sides to take. Tacit, however, is looking at the server merge as an opportunity to make an impact for the over-all good of the community. I personally don't like the idea of sitting on my hands while watching the newer generation gamers dictate the server become anything even closely resembling what they were on the games since EQ. WoW destroyed the essence of what mmo's should offer in community and content, there in ... you find it more and more uncommon to come across groups of players like ourselves that have the unique standards we developed long ago. We realize that going in as a smaller, although probably more organized, skilled, and experienced guild may be a preference ... the reality of it is to do so could quite possibly put us into a certain rung on the ladder we may not be able to move up from depending on what kind of players gain power. Also it will prevent us from making a noticable impact on the developing community, because we'd lack the strength in numbers to compete with the massive zergs.

Perhaps more important to some then others, but in general it's just the decision we made as a whole. Point being, that's why we initially put ourselves out there, to get a feel of what other guilds think or are going to do, and if at all possible develop our "standings" with such guilds. Being either alliances, or just a common expectation of what exactly we should look to face after the merge. We've not made any final decision in this regard, and will more then likely continue to keep channels and options open as well. I just think it important to associate ourselves with guilds, allies, that share similar principles, and I knew Xanit to be such a guild. Hopefully at the very least I've shed more light on our intents, and I think we have a better understanding on how you sit, so we appreciate that. You're all still more then welcome to hit our forum on our site if you'd like to voice an opinion, or tell me how retarded you think I am, what have you =P. Regardless, still looking forward to the merge and hopefully this game becomes the game it should have been when it was released. Best of luck with whatever you guys should end up deciding, and lets all hope this works out for the community =D.
