Hello,

There is another movement going to get the SOE bastards to give us a hardcore ruleset team pvp server. If you're subbed you can support it here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/vg/posts/list.m?topic_id=37702

A developer has already posted that the code is written and up to date with Vg's current version.

If you're not currently subbed you can still post in this thread without an active account:

Cheers,

Oh yes, the rules he has coded:

It is a "hard core" server rules set.

Firstly, that would require an additional server shard, which is quite a few machines. Not a trivial expense by any means.

Secondly, it is unclear whether this would be a viable financial model. So any such server would at best be temporary unless population on that server proved the viability of this style of play in number of active players on the server.

We had a survey at one point to judge interest levels, but players went online and spammed other players to go post, and so we had to shut down the survey.

The hard core rules server as coded currently does the following:

* Eliminate world-assisted fast travel, such as riftways and flying mount vendors.

* Eliminate most bind requirements on most gear in the game (they would not even be bind on equip let alone bind on pickup)

* Decreases by half the amount of experience earned from mobiles and quests (for adventuring only)

* Increases all game mobile difficulty of mobiles below raid level mobs by 1/2 dot in power (3 dot becomes effectively a 3.5, 4 dot a 4.5, etc). This starts scaling at level 1 and is fully scaled in at level 10.

* Death causes experience loss, there is no debt. And you can de-level (lose a level)

* The code support an additional loot table that is a world loot table that can rarely drop loot on this server that drops on no other server. It was thought that for the additonal challenge of such as server, there had to be rewards available that were available to no other server.

I was afraid something like that happened. I was about to reply to that thread too, but had to close out and do some work real quick. I came back looking for it and both the post and you were gone.

I hope to still see you around.. Letali has my email and if you want you could also PM me here.

maybe it's just me but "hardcore" and "team pvp" do not go together. FFA is the only "hardcore" pvp.

Other than that there were some interesting ideas, it's a shame that VG's population is so low that theyve pretty much given up on PVP, PVP players, and the PVP server.

I'm still not allowed to post, but check it:

I'm sort of mind boggled. We ask about pvp for a freakin year and Silius says he has not and does not talk about it because nobody from Sartok came to fanfair, in Las Vegas?!

..and that that he will only discuss pvp face to face or teamspeak, but not during the work day? Is Sartok like a hobby he does in his garage - I could have sworn my account was auto-debit payable to SOE, not Silius' garage workshop.

He also pushed back Pantheon/Nexus to GU7. Yay.

Wow. Basically never trust any dates said by a dev (or add two game updates to that number). How many fucking times ?

lol.
