Darkfall NDA is lifted. I got in late December 08.

I haven't played for a good two weeks, not much desire to log in actually. Yeah there is lots of potential, same as Vanguard, I reckon.

With Darkfall a lot of the stuff is just ass. Graphics, the ui and most combat feels like running in circles and spamming right mouse clicks. Imagine Mount and Blade combat and then know that Darkfall is not even close to to being as fun.

The forced first person view for bow and magic attacks gets me sea sick. As a result I run around with sword drawn.

No stealth and you can set how much foilage is around so kinda of hard to be a rouge type. I've yet to be surprised by a monster or another PC.

All that is just my opinion. I know a few fellas who play shadowbane and Eve and they think DF is really cool. I'm just not one of those people yet. I log in and think "why did I just log into a game that wont even let me see the front of my character"?

..so are you guys in there also? How do you feel about it so far?

I've heard similiar things, I'm still going to be pre-ordering the European launch to try it myself.

In regards to XK we have a few people that are going to try the Euro Launch. If we think it's a game worth playing you may see us playing actively once the US servers go live. I can see past graphics and a ui if the gameplay is really that inticing, all of the feedback we've gotten so far is from the newbie areas for the most part.

Though the combat at times looks pretty simple, there's still the stamina management aspect to it as well, which I like.. In alot of the videos I see people running around spamming their attack at mid air just wasting stamina.. So on the surface the combat is pretty simple..

On the other hand in Vanguard as a monk, I had lots of cool martial arts animations and lots of abilities, but when it came down to it, I usually one-two shotted people.. You didn't really need all those fancy animations because you never got to see them..

So, while Darkfall's combat appears more basic and simplistic, it also put's people on a more even playing field imo.. No fotm OP classes to worry about.. Thats what appeals to me.

Yeah, M$B is the bestest.

They say with every patch more mobs get added, but i never really found them. I jogged for 20 minutes once looking for something to kill. There also seems to be zero natural wildlife. You know, like birds or just random animals like the deer and crap in southwatch.

Sometimes the landscape will look really cool and then other times everything looks really Atari 2600.

I was going to tell you before and I tried to get access to your member area, but then I didnt really follow through very hard on my first request.

Yeah, I finally got into create an account. It says sold out though. I don't want to buy this game, but I can't help not wanting to be left out. I'm such a sucker for this crap.

Maybe I'll buy it, test it out, then shelf it for a month while the mayhem settles down. I love their forums though. People make thread titles "oh my fucking god" and then someones says they couldn't pre-order and someone else comes along and says, "I got two pre-orders so shove it up your ass."

And all those threads just sit, unmolested and unmoderated.
