Hey guys,
Im gonna break down and buy this stoopid game......what classes does XK need?
Ive been playing a tank in eq2, and am my guild's offtank/ main assist right now, which I like doing....but I am open to any class that the guild needs.....
Also, any other information would be helpful, starting city, faction,.....any crap like that that I would need during character creation.
It looks like we are short on sorc, with only one on the roster, but are there any other more "useful" classes that we need to fill out?
I don't know shit bout this game, so any info would be helpful

I'd say play whatever you like to play. We are relatively short on tanks as well as sorcs. Make sure to start in Qalia, just makes groupwing with us easier. Thestra would be the worst continent to start. Kojan would be acceptable as well. The overwhelming majority of us are on Qalia though.
Ruh-roh, it's Saelr!
The one thing we're good on is clerics. We're pretty light on casters, if you liked being a wizzy then I suggest being a Sorcerer.

Who fares better in PvP? Are tanks worth a shit? Or do the suck balls like in every other pvp game?
I liked playing a wiz in eq1......but the big ass bulls eye on my chest at the beginning of every pvp battle was a little annoying.

Huge donkey balls. I'd recommend a Sorc.

I'm hearing Sorc is really good at pvp right now...Haven't played one, don't know for sure, but that's just what I'm hearing from a good many people.
Will be great to see you Saelr, glad to hear you are joining us.
I'm working on Vanraw, and a couple others too, but they are dug into WoW, mostly for the pvp.

Well I keep getting my ass handed to me by casters (as a warrior) in PvP, and sorcerers can do good amounts of damage (ala Wizards). Very similiar to early EQ where Melee's would usually always get owned by casters, until items and aa's evened things out.
Given this is still early on, so I'd poll what the others in the 20+ range are seeing.

If I get close to a caster that is equal or within a level to me, its lights out for the caster. Getting close is the problem ;)

From what I've seen as a Bard, if you're facing a class that roots, and you don't either have a way to get out of root, or do damage from range, you're going to get owned. Root lands way too often as of right now, and a level 7 can root a level 20+ ad infinitum. I'm sure that they'll balance that though, it's just a matter of time.
I'm loving what Bards can do in PVP though, and I hear that it only get's better once I get the snare/slow song.
I think the only class right now (and this is from my perspective) that's getting the short end is Rogues. And I think that's been changed after the last patch. They just weren't doing enough burst DPS to offset their lack of survivability.
Snare song owns Hail. Instant snare and they typically drop 5 - 10 seconds later if others are with me.
Also, I owned a Pally 1 level lower than me and I still had 80% health by snare kiting him with bow and whatever our DD is (forget name) then throwing in a mez and doing a drive by with hew the mountain.

Good to know. I haven't had much luck with Mezzing PC's, but I'm sure it's easier now that they reduced the casting time to 2 secs.
